Agrifood ITAB
Led by industry the Agrifood Industry Training Advisory Body (ITAB) is a registered charity and a not-for-profit organisation charged with driving the skills and workforce development agenda across six main sectors:
- Rural and related industries (including agriculture, horticulture, conservation and land management),
- Animal care and management
- Food, beverage and pharmaceutical processing
- Meat
- Seafood
- Racing (greyhound, thoroughbred and harness)
The Agrifood ITAB develops and implements workforce development strategies and industry’s nationally endorsed qualifications to meet the current and emerging needs of agrifood enterprises, employees and students throughout regional and urban Australia.
Mission:
The mission of the Agrifood ITAB is to advance education and training by identifying generic and emerging skills that support the employability of individuals and provide for local community development.
We work with a vast array of stakeholders at all levels:
- on the ground with enterprises, regional communities and research organisations to drive adoption of new and better workforce planning and skills development;
- with Registered Training Organisations (RTOs) and the tertiary sector more broadly to drive high quality delivery and assessment of skills;
- with industry peaks and key bodies to build their voice as advocates and change agents of the national skills and workforce development agenda;
- with schools to provide advice on skilling requirements , career pathways and employment opportunities
- with community to facilitate community development (such as environmental sustainability)
- with individuals to advise on career pathways and employment opportunities
- with the three tiers of government to drive evidentiary-based policy formation which supports the needs of agrifood sectors and the challenges facing Australia’s regional workforce.

It is a registered charity and has not for profit status from the Australian Charities and Not for Profit Commission. The ITAB also has Charitable Fundraising Authority from the NSW Department of Fair Trading. The Agrifood ITAB is not affiliated with Training Services NSW.
